Inspiration for This Painting:
I’ve had a set of gorgeous handmade Shimmer Drops watercolors for a while, and I was trying to come up with some fun concepts to use them. I have a few different pads of black watercolor paper, and metallic paints work incredibly well on them. They are so vibrant on the dark surface. After some brainstorming, I decided my paint colors would be perfect to do a northern lights animal series. I tried to paint in larger chunks in an attempt to mimic the lights as they dance an change across the sky, twisting and changing shapes.
